In this exhibition, I am imagining the blue world at the horizon line where the sky touches the earth. It is a journey leading to the distant line of the horizon, a world coloured blue. Through these large-scale installations, I hope to materialize this place that is so close and so far away at the same time.
Here you can see some images from installing the exhibition along with some photos of works as they were being made. I created three new installation works for the show- one wall work, one hanging wire piece and a third embroidered installation created with thousands of individual embroideries hanging from the ceiling.
For this exhibition, I also designed some limited edition patches in a special blue colourway that will be for sale at the Centre MATERIA shop.
I would like to thank Centre MATERIA for hosting this exhibition and for the many volunteers that helped to install the work. A special thank you goes out to Guy Langevin the Directeur of Centre Materia for his support and enthusiasm in all aspects of this show.
This exhibition runs from April 14- May 29, 2022.
I would like to acknowledge the support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts.
