I was delighted to be included in an exhibition curated by fellow Harbourfront textile studio artist-in-residence Marianne Burlew at Red Head Gallery. The premise of the show was interesting- a series of collaborations between Burlew and 12 artists whose work inspires a physical response. Burlew encased pieces in plastic and then filled the forms with air.
We chose to include some of my experiments from grad school because they were so much about touch and flexible arrangements. Marianne put them in lots of plastic bubbles so viewers could move them around.
This show was so fun and it was exciting to see Lizz Aston and Anouk Desloges’ work in the show as well. They were also Artists-in-Residence in the textile studio!
