In the studio for the past few months, I’ve been experimenting with some different embroidered patch designs. From bees to swans to birds to ferns- I’ve been exploring different imagery and stitch patterns. They all start with a drawing and then move to stitching on my machine. When I’m satisfied with the design, I use my Bernina 780 Embroidery machine to make multiples.I’ve been working with chiffon backgrounds to give the patches an airy effect.They are then trimmed and an iron-on adhesive is applied so you can easily add them to your bags, jean jackets, shirts etc!
